Ali Ensandoost transferred to Langrud Prison in Qom





nedaieroshan/- Saturday, August 27, 2022 - After completing the interrogations, Ali Ensandoost (Kheradgara) was transferred to Langrud Prison in Qom.
According to nedaieroshan, during the past few days, Ali Ensandoost (Kheradgara), a cyberspace activist, was transferred to Langrud Prison, after the interrogations were completed at Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) detention centre. He had previously been arrested and sentenced to prison for his peaceful activities.

"Ali Ensandoost's accusations are related to his activities in cyberspace, and he is currently in Langrud Prison in Qom.", said an informed source during a conversation with the reporter of Human Rights in Iran.
It should be mentioned that Ali Ensandoost (Kheradgara) was arrested on August 13, 2022, following the raid of the security agents on his residence in Qom Province and was transferred to the intelligence detention center of Qom Province for interrogation.
This cyberspace activist was also arrested by the security forces in Rasht city, Gilan Province, on April 28, 2020 , and after going through the interrogation process and being made aware of his accusation, was transferred to Langrud Prison in Qom on September 4, 2020.
With the application of judicial proceedings on the case of Ali Ensandoost (Kheradgara), this cyberspace activist was sentenced to a total of 8 years in prison by branch 3 of the Qom Revolutionary Court, on charges of "cooperation with hostile governments", "insulting the leadership and Ruhollah Khomeini in cyberspace", and "propaganda activities against the state". After the announcement of submission to the issued verdict and the reduction of the sentence to 4 years and 6 months imprisonment and the application of Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the capital punishment for Ali Ensandoost (Kheradgara) came into effect.
On December 26, 2021, following a directive to reduce the criminal population of prisons, this cyberspace activist was transferred from Langrud Prison to his home under judicial surveillance, after installing an electronic ankle bracelet.
In Article 5 of the Criminal Procedure Law, it is emphasized on informing the accused as soon as possible about the alleged charges and providing the right of access to a lawyer and other defense rights mentioned in the law.
Filing cases against civil society activists violates Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights adopted on 16 December 1966, which emphasizes the right of individuals to disseminate political and ideological opinions and views without border restrictions
Detaining people without informing them of their charges and lack of access to a lawyer for the accused are among the violations of international human rights instruments, Article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, adopted on 16 December 1966
